Are you looking to create pairings for your round-robin tournament? Then you’re at the right place!
Most round-robin tournaments have an average of 10 players. And with ChessManager, creating a tournament(any format) with up to 20 players is free. So why not open a ChessManager account and create a round-robin pairing today?

We’re a FIDE-approved software, and we strictly adhere to their player-matching guidelines.
Here’s how you can do it:
First, you need to login to your account. Once you do, you’ll be taken to the main dashboard. There, you’ll find a button on the top-left side that says New Tournament. Click on it first.
After step 1, the system will take you to a new window to enter the basic details.
Fill in the details like the tournament's name, city, and federation. After you’re done, click on Continue.
The system will take you to the next window.
This is the most important step.
In this window, click on the down-drop under ‘Pairing’. Once you do, ChessManager would offer you 3 options:
Now, the default option is Swiss System because it’s the most common format for chess tournaments. So you need to be a little attentive here and select Round-Robin.
Now we come to Replays, which is next to the Pairings option.
Replays tell ChessManager how many times the 2 players will face each other.
So if the Replay value is set to 1, all the players will face each other once. If it’s set to 2, the players will face each other twice. If 3, the players will face each other thrice, and so on.
This means:
Be careful about this because it’ll drastically impact how many rounds will be there after you add all players.
Note: If you want your tournament pairings to be publicly visible, you have to toggle the option ‘Show the tournament on ChessManager’s Calendar’.
Once all the right settings are in place, click Continue.
Once you’ve selected the right format, continue adding the players.
For this, go to the Players tab and click on ‘Add players’. If the player is already in FIDE’s database, chances are it’ll also be in ChessManager’s database.
And by just selecting the player, their details will automatically be added, as if it were magic! This saves you time.
If the player is new, you might have to fill out the detail of each player and save it.
After you finish adding all the players, only the last step remains.
For this, go to the Matches tab and click Pair. And voila, ChessManager will give you a Round Robin pairing of all the rounds! Simply click on the round number (located between the pairings and all the tabs at the top) and choose the round whose pairing you wish to see.
ChessManager creates the number of rounds automatically, depending on 2 factors:
So if you had 10 players, and created a single round-robin event(Replays value = 1), the total rounds would be 9.
And if you had 10 players, and created a double round-robin event(Replays value = 2), the total rounds would be 18.
Round-robins are usually less than 20-player events. Since the number of players is less, it would take less than 5 minutes to create pairings on ChessManager if the players are registered with FIDE.
Players can see the pairings on our Chess Tournaments page. For this, you have to toggle the option ‘Show the tournament on ChessManager’s Calendar’ (Step 3).
Yes, you can use ChessManager’s pairings for hosting single-round robins and also double-round robin events.
Since we’re a FIDE-approved chess pairing software, we must always stick to FIDE’s guidelines.
