Come and Have Fun at the Nutcracker's Fancy Dress Chess Party!

The place where you will not only play chess, win prizes and make new friends, but also have fun and eat cakes baked by Meri Grigoryan herself! From our Mad Hatter tournament experience, the prizes and the cakes proved to be very popular not only amongst the children but also accompanying adults!

Where: Main Hall, Chiswick Town Hall Heathfield Terrace, Turnham Green, London W4 4JN

When: 10:30-15:30, Saturday 30th November 2024

£450 in cash prizes in total to be won across all age groups

Arrival at 10:00 | Closing Ceremony at 15:15

Open to players born on or after 31st August 2008 with or without rating:

U8 rated =<1000 | U10 rated =<1200 | U12 rated =<1400 | U14 =<1600 | U16 rated =<1800

Entry fee £39

Places are limited to 50 participants on first come first serve basis, the tournament entry fee will be accepted after the player's place is confirmed
Swiss System | 6 Rounds | Tiebreak: Direct Encounter/Progressive Score/Number of wins

1st place £40 | 2nd place £30 | 3rd place £20

Age group winners awarded a trophy, every sportsperson receives a souvenir medal and a fabulous 'Certificate of Achievement'.
The overall tournament winner is awarded a trophy, with their name engraved, to keep for a year.

Additional Prizes at the Organiser’s Discretion:

Sportspersons must be a member of the English Chess Federation in order to become rated players.

Prizes for the Nutcracker's Chess Tournament

Safeguarding: Please note that ONE accompanying adult MUST be present at all times during the event as the venue is open to the public. There will be only 50 chairs for accompanying adults inside the playing hall. Adults are not allowed to stroll or watch while the games are in progress. Child’s allergy or any other illness that the organisers should be aware of please mention when you register. Photos may be taken but ask permission from opponents. Please mention in your email that you are NOT happy to have your child/children's photo taken by the organiser and possibly published on social media or websites. Thank you.
