Playing Schedule Six rounds of chess will be played in a Swiss Draw. All players will compete in every round. The draw for each round will ensure that players play someone on the same or a similar score. Each player will be allowed 20 minutes for all moves. Chess clocks will be used in some sections. Instruction will be given where necessary. Timings Registration : 09:00 – 09:45 Round 1 : 10:00 Round 2 : 11:00 Round 3 : 12:00 Round 4 : 13:00 Round 5 : 14:00 Round 6 : 15:00 Presentations : 15:45 Departure : 16:00 approx. (If the opportunity arises to advance these times, it will be taken) Trophies Trophies, shields or medals will be awarded to the first and second-placed player in each age group. In the event of a tie, the sum of the cumulative personal scores will be used to determine the winner and the runner-up. Further details will be displayed in the playing rooms. Refreshments Breakfast butties, light snacks, and hot and cold drinks will be available on the day, at reasonable prices. Wifi Access to the Centre’s Wi Fi will be available, but please note that charging points are limited.
